WoW #120

23 september 2015

WoW (Waiting on Wednesday)  is een wekelijks terugkerende tag die wordt gehost door Breaking the Spine.
Hierin vertellen boekliefhebbers naar welke boeken ze uitkijken.

Deze week kijk ik uit naar:

stefan bachmannTitel: A Drop of Night
Auteur: Stefan Bachmann
Genre: Young Adult, Mysterie, Horror
Verwacht: maart 2016

add to goodreads

Five gifted teenagers are selected out of hundreds of other candidates to fly to France and help with the excavation of a vast, underground palace buried a hundred feet below the suburbs of Paris. Built in the 1780’s to hide an aristocratic family and a mad duke during the French Revolution, the palace was sealed after the aristocrats fled there. No one has set foot in it for over two centuries.

Now, in the present day, the teenagers enter with cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art security, scientists and chaperones. And then a brutal accident occurs. No way out. Caught in the dark.

They will have to fight to survive. But are they really alone in the depths?

‣  Waarom dit boek / Why this book?:

Normaal gesproken houd ik niet zo van mysteries/thrillers, maar het opgraven van een oudpaleis klinkt wel heel interessant. Ik ben heel nieuwsgierig naar wat zich in dat verborgen paleis bevind.

Thrillers/mysteries are not my kind of read but I like the sound of a buried palace and I would like to know what lives down there.

  1. YES, YES, YES! I already have this on my TBR list and can’t wait for it to be released … next year. SO FAR AWAY, OH MY GOD. But I’m really excited! I like the cover and the synopsis sounds super cool too! Great pick!

    Here’s my WoW! 🙂

  2. I hadn’t heard of this book before until your post and it definitely sounds like a nail-biter of a book! Thrillers can be really exciting reads (but I’m not too great with horror haha)–I think I’ll have to check this one out when it hits bookstores!

Let me know what you think of my WoW this week if you get the chance! 🙂

I wasn’t too keen on horror too until I read my first zombie novel, Red Hill by Jamie McGuire. Now I can’t get enough of it 😉
      Thanks for visiting!

  3. I’m a huge fan of horror and thrillers, but I’m not 100% sold on the story of this. I’m curious, but usually books featuring many main characters don’t work for me. BUT if I see a lot of people enjoying this when it comes out, then I’ll definitely pick it up myself. 🙂 I hope it doesn’t disappoint you!

I don’t care about many main characters, but I do hope we don’t get 5 pov’s, that is someting I really dislike. 2 is the max for me.
      Thanks for your visit!
